Conversation in English
In an Office in Jakarta
Ask for information and give information
Interviewer : Would you mind telling me a little about
yourself, Ms. Ismail?
Applicant : Well, I was born and raised in Makassar. I
went to Hasanuddin University and got my bachelor’s degree in public relations.
I worked at Makaka Inc. in HRD for two years and I believe my experience will
help me do personnel department work here.
Interviewer : I’d like to know what you did at your
previous job, then.
Applicant : Well, I helped my manager plan training
programs. I contacted trainers, informed them about the goals of the programs
and arranged schedules.
Interviewer : So, you’re good at dealing with people. I wonder
if you could tell me about your skills.
Applicant : Actually, I’m good at organizing and managing
people. I took managerial courses and they helped me in my work.
Interviewer : S, what’s your greatest strength?
Applicant : I’m good at handling people. When they have
problems, work-related or not, they often come to me for advice.
Interviewer : Are you saying you care about people you work
with?
Applicant : Exactly.
